Physics-based climate risk modelling

Climate risks are drastically increasing. These hazards include wildfires, hurricanes, droughts and floods, resulting in huge social and economic impact. Mitiga is a Barcelona-based company that offers an all-in-one solution to help risk managers understand and predict weather and geophysical hazards, such as wildfires, volcanoes or precipitations. The team has built several physics-based models based on a high-performance super computing platform.
The company sells their SaaS platform mainly to insurers and reinsurers, and other corporates, and is also providing the tech stack for catastrophe bonds and is developing a proprietary Climate Risk Index, which aims to become a market standard fueled by regulatory tailwinds.
