José Mª Amusátegui

José María spent 35+ years in VC, investment banking, private equity and wealth management, acquiring knowledge that he leverages to bring Kibo seasoned insights.

Before Kibo, he co-founded Cygnus AM, a Hedge Fund boutique. Previously he spent 14 years at UBS, first as Executive Director at UBS London and Spain, working in M&A deals, IPOs and equity derivatives structures as part of the Investment Banking team, and after 7 years he moved to the Wealth Management Division to create a Corporate Finance capacity for the lasgest private clients in Spain. He began his career first within information systems and strategic management consulting at Arthur Andersen (now Accenture) and afterwards at Advent España.

He holds an MBA from ESADE and a degree in Law from Universidad Complutense de Madrid.

Jose Maria has keen interest in History and the recent rise of China. He loves Mallorca and golf, and is always happy to share tips about both.
